The national parks and monuments, tribal and state parks, wilderness areas and general public lands represent a great diversity of landforms. They also contain a great deal of biological diversity that requires our protection if all species are to survive. While I am thankful for the protected beauty that I enjoy photographing I am also watchful of the agencies charged with their protection. I am active in responding to local land management issues and while these actions of mine may not be evident in the photography, I feel it is. I believe that landscape photographers have a responsibility to help educate the general public about these lands through our images and actions.
