Cathedral in the Desert is considered the heart of canyon country by most of the land's advocates. It was drowned when the gates of Glen Canyon Dam closed in 1963. On April 9, 2022, friend Colleen Miniuk walked into this sacred space. Pool Elevation was at an all-time low of 3527' and dropping. We were alone for the entire afternoon and the next morning. At $400 a day for boat rental, 2 days was all we could afford. The gods were with us. The light, the silence, and the splendor were with us, and us alone. These few images are my takeaway from a trip I've only been able to dream about for 50 years. The book version found at www.blurb.com has my personal writing and snapshots of our escapade! Need I explain the book's title?
