The West is oft-touted for it's fabulous landscapes. Just as often, the sky usually plays a big role in said landscape, but not as much is said of it. Montana knows better. They're the "Big Sky Country." The license plate says so! I was born there, so maybe that's why, wherever I go on the plateau or the rest of the west, I look up, and if I end up not being able to look anywhere else, I make a photograph. This is a collection of sky photos made over the years where most or all of the motion and emotion of the photograph was inspired by the clouds. The title comes from my friend Linda, who quipped it first a number of years ago and has delightfully done so ever since when we're out tending to our tripods or sipping some red wine and looking at pictures. This one's for you Linda!
