Grand Canyon. 24 Days on the Colorado river. Private trip. No motors season. Sound like a dream? It is, and this one came true for me, thanks to my friend Jennifer. We shoved off September 19 of 2022 and didn't touch pavement until October 11. This book of this name at blurb.com celebrates the journey, the crew, the camps and all else. I'm sharing just those photographs that I think of as my art in this gallery. We had lots of miles and lots of days, so most days were long and we took plenty of time to scout the larger rapids. By the time we made camp I rarely had time to pull out my Nikon D850 and make some tripod images. Those are labeled Porftolio. Most of what is shown here are images gleaned from the canyon walls using my Sony, as we floated slowly past, in and out of shade, anticipating the next thrill. Those are labeled Tone Poem or Scene. The biggest thrill for me was finally getting an image of Elve's Chasm as my two previous trips had missed it entirely! My mates on this trip knew how important this one place was for me so they waited until I was finished with my work before we all jumped in the pool to cleanse ourselves. It was a joyous baptism and I still feel blessed by it!
