This is my visual version of Kent Frost's wonderful book "My Canyonlands." I've met and hiked with the man, and he once gave me his climbing rope. Kent wandered our shared favorite landscape a generation before me. These photographs extend beyond the formal area known as Canyonlands mainly because his words and explorations gave me the itch to roam just a little further, around the next bend, just beyond the horizon. I've long wanted to assemble this tome, and for several reasons. First, because I doubt anyone else will publish it, and second, because it's a way for me to celebrate the photographic work I've been making here for decades. Like any good hike, it's not the end of the trail, but a place to gather, take stock of where I am, and perhaps set my sights on a new direction, thoroughly enjoying where I've been and, most certainly, where I am.
